The WRDAA Winter Event is an educational and community building experience for dancers of WRDAA member studios. Not only will dancers will leave inspired after working with incredible guest teachers, they will have an opportunity to work together with their peers in the greater Calgary dance community.



The last class of the day will be an audition class. Dancers will learn an unseen combination and be asked to perform it in groups. During this part of the schedule, the guest teachers will be able to award scholarships to dancers based on various criteria. Feedback from the audition class will be given to the entire group in the last ten minutes of the day. Dancers must participate in the first two classes to be eligible to take the audition class. Our event strives to provide an inclusive and diverse environment. Participants are encouraged to wear dance attire/activewear that they feel comfortable and confident in. Each participant’s attire must facilitate proper movement and be respectable in nature. Examples of this may include: leggings, shorts, t-shirts, tank tops, leotards/tights/shorts, etc. Please, no visible studio logos on clothing items. Dancers are also required to wear appropriate footwear for each class they attend. Hair should be off the dancer’s face.

Registration links will be provided to dancers through their Home Studio (where they are currently registered for their regular weekly dance classes/training). This event is only open to dancers who are currently registered at WRDAA Member Studios. At the end of the registration process, a link will be provided to make a payment through PayPal. Payment must be received at the time of registration to be eligible to participate in the event. Registration opens early fall, this event typically runs in January.
